Tanager Food Assistance Program

Feeding Vermillion invites all students needing food  in the Vermillion Schools to apply for the Tanager  Food Support Programs.  You will need to pick one of the two alternatives:

1. Tanager Food Pantry Shopping  located in the Community Connection Center
Parents or guardians can get food for students in need every week to combat food shortage and hunger. With Tanager Take-Out you have the advantage of being able to choose which items they prefer. Starting this school year you log in at the food pantry under the child, meaning we have made it easier for families with shared custody so parents or guardians who live in different households can alternate and come shop for the child(ren) in their home that week.
Tanager Take-Out is every Wednesday at the Food Pantry 2PM-6PM (with a short break 4:30-4:45 for a volunteer shift change).

2. Tanager Delivery -The prepacked Weekend Food Bags provides students with food to help them combat hunger and food shortage. The pre-packed bags typically consist of non-perishable items and some fresh produce. The advantage is: you do not have to visit the Food Pantry once a week, but with the drawback of not being able to choose the content. The food is usually distributed to the student's school on the last day of the school week.
